Right now at 650.00 up. They have really gone up as of late , good luck finding one. You could find a Universal cheaper, but stay away from them and go with Milsurp !

Thanks Mooseman684. I did see one at our local Cabelas store for about that price but I didn't know if that could be their mark up or what.

Keep your eyes open. You can still occassionally find an import marked USGI for $450-$500. And if you get REAL lucky, you might find a nice non-import lineout like I did for under $500! The deals are still out there, but you gotta be quick!:lucky:

Dang. I sold an M1 carbine (mil-surp) back in 1993 for $275 and thought I had robbed the guy that bought it.

I'm new in here, but I sold 2 for $500.00 a couple of years ago. Makes me want to weep!

I noticed a few at a gun show last weekend. The least expensive one I saw was $450.00, but I didn't check who made it.

Ofcourse there is the alternative of getting one of the present manufactured M-1 carbs. Khar is making them now, and a few years back a Texas company called Israeli Military Industries was making them down in Houston. Both makers got high marks from the NRA on faithfulness.

The IMI carb, which I own one of, was made with new forged receiver, new barrel and new new stock. All other components were of unused military contracts of WWII vintage.

I paid $450.00 for my IMI five years. I know it lacks the historical flavor of WWII make. But I don't worry about "wearing out" a historical firearm. And !!!!, ain't they fun to shoot! Also great house defense gun. 110 grain hollow point bullet, Winchester's, at 1800 fps. hits like a 357 maggie but with 15 rounds in the magazine.

Over the past year I've noticed these guns have gone up. Actually, 85% of the time I'm seeing an M1 Carbine outprice a M1 Garand. I remember seeing them for like $350-$400 about 8 years ago(I think) now there more like $750-$800.

My first one was $17.50 thru the NRA. A Colt 1911 for the same price. Something to say for the 1950's. But wages were $ 35 for a six day week

I still see the occasional import for under $500. I'm in Ohio and we still seem to have some fairly reasonable prices on them.
