Yup, right on the option sticker...it has 17 inch tires and rims...

The dealer filled it up for me (it was on E....took $87 to fill it! )...went from Toledo to Cabela's in Dundee and back after I bought it...didn't even use 1/4 tank of gas....I was really surprised!

Supposed to get 16 city and 20 hwy....

Joe, should have bought a Kia car! Forget the trucks, you don't need that.

Hate to be a nitpicker but I had to call my salesman today....the F150 5.4 Triton logo on the drivers side fender has the black peeling out of the F150 part...making them get me a new one...

Also, we went to Cabela's in Dundee after I bought it...had a shimmy at 75 mph and when you let off the steering wheel she veers to the left....making them give me a front end alignment....

All covered under warranty...

I thought Ford had the intake manifold gasket fixed on the 4.2, apparently that was a bit optimistic. You might need to get used to that shimy in the front end, I've heard several people complain about that on the new Fords, the heavier the pickup the worse it gets. Something about the frames not being made out "spring" steel that transmits vibrations thoughout the pickup. But then who knows.

Our company pickups are all Chevy 1500s with the 4.3 and AT transmission with heavy leaf springs. We were trading them at 150K but that just got backed up to 200K. Biggest problem we are having them is weak fuel pumps, usually needs replaced at least 2X in 200K. We were having problems with the intake manifold gasket too, but that hasn't been an issue on anything thats a 2001 or newer - yet. I've driven Fords my entire life but I'm really impressed with the 4.3 in the Chevy, with 200hp it puts my 84 F150 with a 302 to shame.

i switched from ford to dodge a couple years ago and ill never go back! i now have a 2001 half ton with extra cab,and like 7mm,mine also has the rock solid 318. its only two wheel drive but its still a great truck! it has a couple minor glitches,my cruise control stopped and the other problem is strange. say im traveling down the road with the ac running,i speed up to pass a car and the ac goes from comming out the dash to comming out the defrost vents? when i take my foot off the gas it goes back to comming out of the dash again. lol no major trouble...just normal stuff youd expect from a used vehicle. but i wouldnt trade4 it for a hundred fords! my brother in law bout a new 3/4 ton ford, huge power stroke diesel,4x4 (the works) and the first week he had it,it left him on the side of the road in texas! some sensor went out in the accelerator. and the transmission leaks,it leaks oil,and he has had to have the ac worked on like five times in the last year and a half! it has been nothing but trouble for him...MOPAR ALL THE WAY!

You have a vaccume problem. There's probably a check valve leaking.

Hey Whirlwind: FYI, the cruise control failing can be indication of a failed speed sensor (usu. located on the side of the tranny), which can lead to a broken transmission. Happened twice with our '94 Ford Taurus station vagon. First time, the mechanic switched the old broken one out with another (working) used one, but took the replacement one's good speed sensor OFF and replaced it with our old one (not knowing it was the problem, and hoping to get more cash out of selling the speed sensor, I guess). So we FINALLY figured out what the problem was after the SECOND transmission died shortly thereafter. So we made the garage make it right since it was their fault. Apparently even the Ford garage wasn't aware that the speed sensors were so critical. Without a proper speed sensor, the tranny doesn't know exactly when to shift, and sometimes hangs in between gears, engaging two at a time, etc. I'm sure you can see how that might be a problem. . . But if the auto trans. shifts without any strange rumbling or lurching feel coming from the tranny, it is probably OK (IMHO).
