GRAF Brass

Does anyone here use GRAF brass for reloading? Does anyone use it for 7.62x54R Mosin Nagant?

I bought some at a gun show and loaded it. It seems to be much lighter than NORMA, LAPUA & S&B brass. Does it hold up well after multiple reloadings?

I have some Norma and Lapua that I have been using for several years. Most have been reloaded 10+ times.

Does Winchester make brass for the 7.62x54R Mosin Nagant? I thought I saw that somewhere.

I've been using it in 54R but only have a couple of loadings on them. The quality seems just fine. BTW, the Winchester 54R is made by S&B-just headstamped and reboxed for Win.

Just an FYI the 54R brass at Grafs is made by a company called Jameson and they are getting a lot of business. The quality seems to be very good and there is only one brass manufacturer that you should look at to handle more than average loadings and that is Starline. Of course all of you need to pay attention to case length, thickness and full exams for splits and other damage the last thing you need is a failure.

I've never seen 54R in the Starline lineup. I WILL state that if you are shooting loaded ammo for the brass, stay away from the Hotshot brand from Bosnia-Herzgovonia. This is the worst brass I've ever seen. Very inconsistent thickness and some of the flash holes aren't even complete-the ones that are are all off center. I would stick with S&B or Wolf Gold for loaded ammo.

Thanks for the info. I haven't tried any "Hotshot" and now I won't.

Graf brass

I am currently using Graf brass for my 7.62x54R.
On my 3rd reload and it is OK.

Note: the primer pocket of the Graf brass is deeper than SAMMI specs. Graf offered to issue refund but I decided to try it. I have noticed that many European Mosin Nagant brass has deep primer pockets. Apparently SAMMI specs are not necessarily international standards.

Have fired and reloaded Winchester white box from Czech Republic and it is OK.
Just fired and reloaded some Serbian Privi Pritsi 7.62x54R. No problems.
Wish that an American company would make Mosin Nagant brass.
