I can understand the temptation to short-cut across a big yard like that, and I can understand that a few years of it would irritate the owner. But maybe he should've thrown up some split logs or something, instead of shooting a kid.

No lawn is worth taking a person's life to preserve it's beauty, if that splotchy lawn could be called beautiful. The kid wasn't threatening the life of the man, he was simply trespassing across the yard.

This man made a deadly error in judgment when he pulled the trigger of that shotgun. Not only did he take away a person't life...but he will most likely end up locked away for the rest of his life, too. It's a sad situation all way around.

I guess he wasn't smart enough to use rock salt and Bacon rind to avoid a murder charge !
