Civic Duty

I've ranting to my friends about the state of affairs, most of which are much less patriotic than the good folks I've found around here.

Anyway, they have little tolerance for my rantings...

But they told me of their civic duty and it's extents...

1. Vote
2. Pay Taxes
3. ?

I'll be danged...I plum forgot the third. I know it was less significant than the first two.

Anyway, I just thought I'd share what Americans, as I perceive them, to believe what the extent of their civic duty really is.

I know it's not as good as the "Jay Walking" skit, but hay, I'm a blue blooded American.

I tried to sign up for the military, but they rejected me for a variety of reasons (army). The airforce was almost a done deal too, but then I had that ear problem and they canned it too.

I'll run for office. That sounds like a good idea. Maybe I can get something pays enough to survive on and I can get a real apartment.

#1 Vote for Personal and economic Freedoms, not civic and social securities.

Thumbs up

To each their own. Personally, I believe in personal security, economic security, civic duty, and social responsibility. They're all important in my life.

So do I, but I do not vote so that the government can provide those things for me. It is MY responsibility. As I am sure you will agree.

You're right SA...It is my responsibility to provide those things for myself...not to wait for a socialistic handout.:right:
