Ammo and a mag

Like dinner and a movie huh LOL... Ok, so I think I've found a good deal on ammo and mags locally. At lunch I ran down to a local pawn shop that I've purchased a few things from in the past. Well, I asked if he could order me some 7.62x39 ammo, he said how much ya want. So I said maybe 500 rounds depending on the price. So he kind of looked around for a minute(had no idea what he was doing). I asked how long it would take to get it in if he ordered it for me, he said about 2 minutes... heh? So sure enough he pulled out a brick of ammo and put on the counter. He asked how much I'd pay for it LOL. I told him I could get 1000 rounds of Wolf ammo from Centerfire for $130. So, he said how about $70 for 500 rounds. At first I was thinking this is higher than Centerfire, but than I realized I wouldn't have to pay $20+ for shipping the 500 rounds, so I bought it. Than I happened to ask if he had any AK mags laying around. Yeah he says, I got it all. So I turn around and theres 3 Promag waffles laying on the counter too, OMG?!? Talk about good timing. So anyways he could only sell me one of the mags because the other two had to go to two ak's he had ordered, but it still only cost me $16 for it new in the bag. Not a bad day if you ask me, 500 rounds of HP ammo(don't remember what brand, comes in a little white box but does go bang everytime so...) and a waffle mag for $76.

Speaking of ordering stuff, STUPID CHEAPER THAN DIRT!!! I placed an order on Monday morning with them, I've been charged for it, but they still haven't processed it yet. Got two German 30 round AK mags, 4 G3 mags, 2 140 round .308 battle packs, a range bag, and an AK chest rig coming. This is about like Christmas LMAO.

Man, are you rich or something? What about my side saddle holster, bandolerr, and butt stock shell thingy?

At that price I think you should buy a few thousand rounds.

LOL, not rich, just don't have many bills. Life is sooo much easier with no car payments  . Have you seen those AK rigs I'm talking about?

When I first ordered it I figured theres no way it would fit me, but for $9.00 it looked neat. But then I found out it will fit me and is supposed to be really nice.

Good choice. The AK rig is supposed to be silent and very comfortable. So if works alright I might use it at the range and use it as part of a SHTF setup with a backpack.

Sounds like you have a decent shop there! Our local gun/pawnshop charges premium prices - he knows he's the only game in town. WalMart and the yuppie 'Sporting Goods' store don't carry milsurp stuff, so this guy sets his own prices.
I order by mail.

My SHTF bag is so full of ammo I can barely get it on my back. I know I couldn't run too fast with it on but I wont need to with all that firepower.

How much did they charge you in shipping?

All that was only like $16 to ship, I think. Not bad since the order is 25+ lbs.

Well, I've heard mixed reviews on the Promags. I've heard some people have zero problems with them, while others have do some filing to get them to work.

You can't go wrong with a good steel mag, but those smoke colored Bulgarian waffle mags are so cool. When you get it in post a pic of it on the MAK.:insane:

10-4. Oh, I do have one question though. The grip screw and bushing I ordered from Tapco, I ended up just about stripping the head of the screw cause it was junk LOL. However, I got the stock screw in and the stock is now on there pretty good. I can still pull down on the grip and the stock will drop, maybe(I'm thinking less) about a 1/4" of an inch. It's still ok to fire right?

I would think it would be alright, but I am not positive. IF it is giving you so much trouble put an aftermarket stock on it.:full: :full: :full:

What I'd actually like to do is put a Romanian stock set on it. You know the ones with foward grip?
