Unless you have a Pistol grip/stock combo I say NO to just a Pistol grip !
They are for more Hip shot shooting than Pointing and shooting accurately and your hand won't like it !

I agree, I'd have a folding stock so you at least have the option. I prefer the standard ones myself though.

Even folders are tricky. Mine has some slop in it, and that skinny little buttplate smacks hard! Now that I'm no longer "trailer trash" (singlewide anyway) I'm seriously thinking going back to the original wood stock.

I put the Knoxx "copstock" folding stock on my Win 1300. I love it! It has a recoil reduction system built into the pistol grip. You can shoot this one one-handed without any major problems - I have done it. Reduces recoil about 50%. GREAT stock.

By the way - nice shotgun!

I'd say no. If you want a Pistol-grip shotgun, go with the 6-shot, 18.5"

I just bought Mossberg's 835 Ulti-Mag 3 1/2" turkey shotgun with the thumbhole stock today. I absolutely love it! It feels just like my M-16 when I hold it up. Kicks like grandaddy's old gray mule though.
