| Senior Member | Thank You. With this thread I just wanted to say Thank You to all the veterans and current members of the US Armed Forces in this forum and the ones that aren't. I believe that the people that haven't served owe each and everyone of you a big debt of gratitude that we could probably never repay. This wonderfull country wouldn't be what it is today if it weren't for people like you that answered the call. My father is a Vietnam vet and I am reminded of a sticker he has and it reads. "Not all wounds are visable.", and a saying I once heard "All gave some but some gave all." That makes me think of the sacrifices that each and everyone of you has made and that the affects of combat are with a person forever. Granted I know not everyone of you has seen combat but everyone of you has made sacrifices or is still making them that alot of people couldn't make or even dream of making. But once again Thank You to each and every veteran service memeber and current ones. ![]() |

| Senior Member | 7mm I got one better for you. My mother always gives him a bad time since he was in the Navy and she says hes probably got a kid in every port he stopped at. What years were you in Vietnam 7mm? If I remember right my father was there in 1970 I can't remember for sure but I'll ask him the next time I get a chance to. He was a river rat on PBRs patroling the rivers of the Mekong Delta. I think he started out as the M60 gunner and then moved up to the dual .50 cals on the front of the boat. I don't know if its still hard for you to talk about some stuff but I know my dad doesn't like to talk about it and I don't blame you guys for not wanting to.
