I would expect Armalite to be totally independent…they are after all the originators, as far as the forged lowers, I have seen a number of lowers that had terrible tolerances and just would not match up with any upper I tried correctly, so while the lowers are forged, I think there are a couple of different folks attempting to complete their own forged lowers (just my opinion). As the barrels go I was not aware there were simply a few vendors for the barrels, however it would seem to make some sense as the rifling of barrels is something that not allot of people tend to attempt.
