compliance parts

does anyone have good ideas for compliance parts for when you convert a thumbhole stock to a pistol grip set?

I recommend the G2 trigger groups from Tapco and their dealers, FSE (First Son Enterprises) also makes one.

Since you're converting from T-hole stock, you'll need another grip and buttstock anyway, so why not use US made ones and kill two birds with one stone?

i have put all us made stock parts on, so i have taken care of. that butt, handguardS, and pistol grip are ALL US

Also, Mooseman, my rifle turned out to be a straight cut, NOT angle cut. thats okay though because it all worked out!!

I would then use a US made FCG. Then you'll be one part ahead. But that's so much easier and will have a better result than if you try to replace the piston and say the follower on every mag you use.

Swapping FCG is a no-gunsmithing job. Just remove old parts, insert new ones. Other parts will require more work and modification to the gun.

Believe me - you'll be glad you did it this way, and you'll learn something about how these guns work. You won't be modifying anything.

The only alternative if you have a completely US stock is to replace the floorplate and follower on EVERY magazine you use. Forget about drums. This as opposed to just swapping out ONE FCG.

The mag release is NOT a compliance part.

The stock set counts for compliance parts, three total if you replace the whole thing. The FCG is also three parts. I usually recommend doing just the buttstock and grip, because you're replacing those anyway, and the FCG, because the ones I've used are an improvement.

I like the thumbhole stock. I shoot really good with them and they are comfortable. How about sending the thumbhole stock this a way.

A muzzle attachment counts, but unless you're replacing a foreign attachment, it doesn't put you ahead. Remember, it's bringing down the foreign parts count that matters. If it had a foreign brake to begin with, that means there'd be yet another part you'd have to replace with US made (no matter which one you decided to use).

Tell you what, though, if you use a US made four piece stock (3 compliance parts) and a US made FCG, you could use a foreign muzzle attachment, and that would open up a few options.

You would need two more if there were no muzzle attachment. You could then use any foreign magazine.

Check the sticky in this forum. It describes the law that Mooseman posted and goes into detail on how it applies.
