Pistol value

I have an old Charter Arms Bulldog .357 Magnum in excellent condition. I would like to know what it is worth now. It is blue steel with a 6" bbl.

They sell for about $150 around here. I assume your gun has adjustable sights and the orginal stocks.

These were actually pretty decent guns in their day, if you stuck to shooting .38 Specials. A magnum diet quickly wore them out.

Go on gunsamerica.com, auctionarms.com, and gunbroker.com to look for the going prices. That will help you get an idea.

It's funny you would ask about this pistol, I was at the armory yesterday buying some 223 ammo and they had a decent used one in the showcase on consignment for $210. It had the normal wear and typical blueing fade you'd expect. Bookman is right, if you use it as a .38special instead of a magnum you'll have a lot more pistol for the money. I had a snubnose Rossi 357 I bought new to use as a .38special.Just like the Charter Arms, if you feed a Rossi nothing but magnums you'll wear it out, quickly .
