A buddy of mine has one in 9mm, he loves it. I've shot it a couple times and my only complaint is the trigger (kinda rough and heavy). Other than that its a great little carbine, fast handling, accurate, standard capacity mags readily available.
I've had one for over a year, and by coincidence was just out shooting it this evening. Absolutely reliable firearm, too-heavy trigger pull, too short of a stock without spacers added (length of pull shorter than a Ruger 10/22). Quite handy overall. Very well made. Pricey.
Great fun, but a Hi-Point works just a well and costs a lot less.
I should add that my Beretta Storm functions 100% with every type of 9mm ammo. Bulk-packed Walmart specials, smelly foreign stuff, reloads, etc. Everything works.
I think pretty much all pistol caliber carbines are cool. Plus, the Beretta uses the same magazines as the pistols, so you can sort of save in that area. Like someone mentioned earlier, a Hi-Point does work just as well, and cost a lot less. Hi-Point has two models, one in 9mm and the other in .40. They only cost $210 to
I have had a Storm for a couple of years now, absolut reliability right out of the box, excellent accuracy, easty to take down with no tools, balanced so well and so light you can shoot it like a pistol if neccessary.
It is by far my favorite 9mm carbine to date, and I have had quite a few,I think they are a terrific home protection weapon and the ammo is not too expensive.:lucky:
