Officials: 1st- and 2nd-grade boys sexually assault girl

No names were released.

The girl, who is 8, was unharmed physically but will not return for the rest of the school year. "We don't know what type of emotional scars it will have on the young lady," Williams said.

The incident happened Friday at Columbia Accelerated Community Educational Center, a school with 400 students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade on the city's north side.

During the recess shortly after lunch, a student alerted a teacher when he saw several boys huddled around the girl who was on the ground.

Police turned the investigation over to juvenile authorities. A court official said the boys could face misdemeanor counts of sexual misconduct and assault.

WTH!?!? She was physically umharmed? Then WT F did they do, touch her shoulder and say nice legs? How in the crap are you going to charge 6 and 8 year olds with sexual assault?

If she was physically unharmed, then that takes out sticking you know what up you know where. I just dont understand this, it doesn't sound right. So a girl is laying on the ground surrounded by 12 boys and no one physically harmed her........ This is one of those things that make your head hurt, like trying to figure out where space ends.

At 6 and 8 years Old they are incapable of intercourse and they are Just children for goodness sakes ! Kids will be Kids and they are little sponges absorbing knowledge and exploring the world around them ! Now that it has been blown out of proportion I wonder what kind of mental scarring the Boys will have as well after being arrested ! At that age we all ran around Naked down south .We are supposed to Tolerate Gays and Illegals but not kids doing something they don't yet have the Mental capacity to understand... The whole world is going nuts , Its just WRONG !

I hate stories like this.... you never know what to believe. I have to say that we have kids that, while maybe not capable of intercourse, can have bad intentions. Kids are not always just being kids.

1. She couldn't have been sexually assaulted but physically unharmed. They're either whimping out from considering sexual violations "harm" which they most certainly are, or she wasn't "assaulted" but "harrassed."

2. I have to bed to differ on whether the kids are physically capable of intercourse. Even so, rape is defined by any sort of unconsentual insertion, and that includes things which are done under duress.

3. The fact that this happened should be a freaking wake-up call
a.) Kids are all too often put in dangerous circumstances by a school system that won't competently protect them.
b.) Where would they have known how to do this if they hadn't been shown inappropriate things in the media due to negligence of parents?
