Went to the gunshow this morning, one of the 1st in there. 5 tables into the show see an old guy at a table with a Chi-Com SKS...I pick it up...Its all number matching...nice dark wood...bluing about 98% He sez he'll take $125 for it! So what do I do? Tell him I'll think about it and walk away...I go about 10 tables up when I realize I'd be pretty stupid not to buy that rifle. Pull the money out, turn around and go back and someone else is walking away with it!!!! GRRRRRR! What a dolt I am.... Was also looking at a primo 1953 dated Polish M44...looked brand spanking new down to the wood...guy wanted $250...asked him if he'd take $200...he said he'd take $225. Kept walking by it...finally a guy bought it and handed it to his around 12 yr old son! If he bought it for his kid, I hope he takes care of it! Wound up buying 240 rds of Swiss GP11 K31 ammo for $100... I might go back tomorrow and poke around some more.... |

Sorry to hear about that SKS,I have a Norinco 16" bbl. on a folding stock, gonna hang on to that one. That was a good price, especially considering only Yugo's are coming into the country anymore. Dang!

I hate when that happens! At a gunshow a couple years back, I found a rusty Russian SKS at a table - $100 on it! Nice laminated stock, but the magazine housing and top cover were heavily pitted. I passed it by - later came back, and it was gone! Found later a range buddy talked the seller down to fifty Dead Presidents! "ARRGGHH!" Darned good shooter too. It's now my friend's 'truckgun'.

I am really glad my dad got a Tula while he could!!! So much quality was put into that rifle and the dark finish that you could almost see yourself in really makes it nicer!

That SKS would have been a great rifle to add to the collection.
