NSA collecting gun ownership records

As if that would be a shocker.

This is what was said before the NICS check was put into service. This is what is scary...the gun business goes out of business and then has to turn over the 4473's to the goverment. Which then enters them into a database so they don't have as many papers!

yup, what are you worried about? If you aren't doing anything wrong, you got nothing to worry about.

That isn't the point. A gun registery is wrong, and should not be formed.

I was being sarcastic! This is the kind of crap I have warned about while other jeered me. I have always said the government is not to be trusted. Nothing has changed. this is why I am against the wire taps because I know they tap as many of us as it possible. Don't you think we are persons of interest? If they were only tapping calls from overseas, that would be okay but, you know they lie and cannot be trusted to only do as they say they are doing. And, with the breaking news of the phone lists, come on, do you honestly believe they are only collecting numbers? bush's white house is outa control, they have no respect for our laws and they do not trust American citizens! Why should we trust them? they have lied fro the get-go and they have not stopped. The lies just get worse and worse.

I do get the monitoring of things inside the country...

And I don't buy into the whole theroy that specifically Bush is creating a monster...maybe when my new and improved alumnium hat comes in next week.

to each thier own. bush could veto these criminal laws yet he does not. rather he loves them. I'd say he's at fault, tin foil hat or not.

Thumbs down

All those computers and technical equipment and all those employees and staff have to be justified, what better way than to gather as much info as possible and save it for a rainey day?
That's one reason for some of our stupid gun laws, prohibition ending would have put too many out of their cushey jobs, hence the F being added to the stinking AT.
Gummint takes care of it's own and feeds off us,ain't right, but that's the way it is.

Personally, I believe that much of this type of information is already being gathered and has been for years. The same for phone conversations and internet traffic. I joke with a buddy of mine and say, "Want to flag this conversation for the NSA to hear?" He says "Don't do it..." Then I throw out "Bomb. Shoot president. OK, this message will now be listened to by an NSA agent." Now this post probably will be monitored.

Either way, anything that has been going on was started long before Bush and probably goes on without his direct knowledge anyway.

All I said on the original post was "As if that would be a shocker." I would not be shocked or dismayed to learn that it was indeed happening. I know the post was a rumor mill sort of thing. Either way, I expect it from the government. My file must be getting thick by now.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if there is a national registry being secretly kept on a computer at the BATF (in violation of federal law) but the DailyKOS story is plain full of sheet. The phone data registry that the NSA is keeping tracks the phone numbers called from a phone number - basically the log distance part of your phone bill. How the NSA would figure out who bought what gun by looking at the length of a call from a dealer to NICS defies logic.

I'm sure it's been going on for years. It's just the "in your face" bush and co. display when questioned about it. Thank goodness for leaks...otherwise, I'd have no vindication.

You da Bomb!

Yes I like the Band Anthrax, do you?

Terrorists are in the news daily...

I saw a clip on the net where a kid made a rocket powered missile out of a 2 liter soda bottle and some mentos...

Remember when Sam Kinnison said " The Scud Missile was the one the Iraqi's fired out of the trunk of their car then went home to watch CNN to see where it landed?

Just makin sure the NSA is reading along......:insane: :joker:
