Yeah, I've had a jam or two with the softpoint. It shoots okay tho. Why the complains about the price on the 500-rd pack? That's only $.15 per round. Lowest price I've seen around here in years was around 12 cents, and that was like 2002. Haven't seen the Wolf classic ammo around here yet. That's a bit pricey at $.20, but about typical for here, too. Wolf is pretty good ammo though, in my experience. Never had a fail-to-fire w/ it. Better deal than the 10-buck 20rd boxes of Winchester at least
The prices on that stuff really fluctuates a lot. I have seen it go for more and less, it is just about timing I guess. I try to snag up as much as I can at the gun shows. I figure that if I am paying $8 to get in I might as well make it worth my while. I am starting a small stockpile, I have 2000 rounds now, aside from my personal stash. I will buy as much as I can and sell it back during the next drought. I know, what a grifter.
Prices on that stuff has gone up and so has other ammo. Most notably is 50BMG. In some cases its almost $60 more per 150 rounds.
I just got in 500 rounds of 7.62X39 and it wasnt cheap at $79.
I checked many websites before ordering. Midway was the cheapest....good luck there! They advertise it but dont have it. No backorders either. They were out of stock on 2 of the 3 things I wanted to order so I paid a bit more and went with Cheaper than Dirt.
I've ordered a lot of stuff from Midway over the years but when they send me a new flyer in the mail and none of the stuff advertised is available I will look at them last.
A set of checkered grips for my 1911 would take 90+ days to get in stock...I could make my own in less time.
I realise this topic is about wolf ammo pricing, but is 100 bucks for a case of 500 American Eagle by Federal .223's in55Gr.FMJ Boat-Tails a good deal? I sure hope so because I just bought a 500 round case of them 2 days ago......
