You should be able to find ammo for about $2.50 or $3 per 20 rounds.

In general, M-91/30s are anywhere from $69.00 - $169.00 depending on manufacture, matching / non matching #s, overall condition, and receiver type, (round/hex).

Collector grade and sniper rifles are higher.

6/3/06 Hello posters, I'm new here, so need some help out on a couple of
Moisin-Nagant rifles purchased over GunBroker.Com- one is the long rifle
91/30 hex receiver made at Tula mfg. plant, and the other is the same but
in the shorter carbine version. Questions, what is the source of two good synthetic and good wooden repl. stocks for these rifles without getting too
carried away on prices.Dependent upon pricing, I want to go back with a thumbhole wood stock on both. Also, I need help in locating some scope
mounts and rings for these rifles. Thirdly, have any of you tried to change or modify the safety knob for a better grip as the round knob is very different for sure than what we are all used to. happy1938

Howdy!

As for the bolt and it's knob - If you mail your bolt handle with $34 to this guy:

mburrows@valornet.com
ePay seller "mellbee"

stating "clearance" (if you are going with the ATI mount) and "max legnth" (if you want it longer for better leverage)

Optionally with a "Badger Ordinance tactical bolt knob" (about $35) :

You'd have a nice sniper style bolt for about $70

As for the mount - JLM of surplusrifle.com approves of both the IO mounting plate that makes the Mosin compaible with Russian style scopes (like POSP) $50 :

and the weaver mount made by ATI $35 :

As for stocks-

The above link also shows the ATI lightweight plastic stock, a treat if you like plastic. If you like wood Boyd's sells the RIA stocdk for Mosin new for $56 (IIR) and "seconds" (when avaialble) for $35

Happy shooting,
