30.06 Tracer

I got some 30.06 tracer ammo last weekend and it says its old US military stuff. What Im wondering is what weapons would we have used 30.06 tracer ammo in? Oh another thing the stuff shoots good and its got a really nice bright tracer to. I had thought for it being older stuff it might not be so great.

well any .30-06 could use it, but the 1919 probably used it and the 1917 watercooled. I got to fire a 1919 at a shoot in fernley nevada a couple weeks ago

I have some 7.62X54R loaded with tracer bullets, but nowhere to shoot them. Don't want to start a fire.
