This looks like the Sea of Garands, can any of you guess what these men are doing with the M1 Garands.

Looks like they are test firing them, through openings in the wall on the right.

Can I have two guesses?

1: Final before-shipment cleaning after proof/function test firing with corrosive ammo.

2: Installing slings.
