California got an A-. What's a state have to do to get a solid A?!? How do you top California? Ban anything small enough to be thrown, if it's made of something harder than pot metal and/or has sharp corners?

As I have been telling you folks for a time, Maryland is the east coast California. We got an A- Chicken Chokin State! The website was bragging they defeated the "Shall Issue" bill.

I am kinda happy with some of the regulations NC has....18 for certain limits, and such.

Could be better, but I think we would agree we don't want children playing with guns

I am not at all happy with the CCW limitations and laws governing the use of deadly force here in this state.

Here is why Georgia got a D:

State law restricts juveniles under 18 from possessing handguns without parental permission or authorized supervision. But there are no restrictions on juveniles possessing rifles or shotguns including semiautomatic assault weapons.

JUVENILE SALE
State law limits selling or giving handguns to juveniles under 18. But there are no state restrictions on transferring rifles, shotguns or even assault weapons to kids - without even their parents permission.

I can live with that. Still, I was hoping for an F-.

I do agree with you big time there. The mere fact of use of hard hands soft hands or matching force with equal force sucks.

I was about to say how nonsensical these grades were, then I realized that this is the Brady grade, not the NRA grade. Sure wish PA got an F too, but we do have mandatory concealment with permits and no open carry, plus handguns require NICS for any transfer except immediate family. But it's "shall issue", no gun show restrictions, no AW restrictions, and only one NFA restriction.

I'm happy with the "D" Vermont got. You must be 16 to possess a handgun, open or concealed carry without a permit anywhere except Federal buildings, State courts, or inside school buildings.

C- for Kansass. we did get concealed carry this year, permits go out in January. But we need shoot first ask questions later legislation, I'd like to see the concealed carry permit go the way of Alaska - shall issue or shall carry I can't remember, but it's nicer than here.

Did you ever notice that smile Mr. Brady has. It looks like he is in pain from all of his wifes whip marks.

Hey, it's not our fault Brady credited us for laws we don't really have. That link seemed to think that we had special gun show laws requiring all sales to be papered vs everywhere else. Only handguns have to be papered each transfer, gun show or not, and immediate family are exempt. So juveniles can't posess a handgun - not in public, of course not, but they sure can on private property with their parent's permission. Of course it's illegal to sell guns to juveniles, it is everywhere. Seems other states get a lower rating for not doubling up on the fed laws.

So yeah, PA should F that Brady test!
