Worlds largest Gun.
Popular Mechanics - World's Largest Gun
The Gustav gun. This thing is nuts. Shoots a 10000 pound projectile.
It talks about the paris gun in the beginning.

That gun won't work as a CCW.

That's crazy. I can't believe that each projectile had to be bigger than the one before it due to the shock.
I'll agree it's pretty impractical but I wouldn't want to be on the other side of one.

You didnt read the other page 22. Thats the paris gun. That only fires a couple hundred pounds. The gustav gun fires 10 or 16 thousand pounds.

I remembering reading about this long ago. Over Kill, but with the technology of the day I can see how they would have hung their reputation on it.
Brute strength.
It's come a long way sense then, thats for sure.

Little David...wow...
The paris gun was defintly not practical. Sad to see such marvels of man destroyed.
It just amazes me what man can create for destruction...and lack in creating for peace.

gonna educate you guys. A mortar is far more accurate than a howitzer.A good mortar crew can put a round in your back pocket. A howitzer is fine over--notice I say over--1000 yards an 81mm is very accurate to about 800meters
