one week from today

I will be in camp in Alaska ready to start my 9 days bear hunting. Morgan and I should return with pictures of two very large Alaskan Brown bears and big smiles on our faces. I am not taking a computer with me as I am limited on weight but will take plenty of pictures and will send them on my return.

Just got back from my Minnesota black bear hunt. Got pic's posted on big game hunting forum, specifically, "black bear baiting". Your probably not using donuts for bait up there are you?

I'm sure your brown bear gonna put mine to shame but he was all I wanted and could handle.

What's the cost on a nine day Alsakan brown bear hunt? Is it mandatory you have a guide?

Are you saving the bear fat? See my "multiple uses of bear fat" posting same place.

Here's hoping you have a successful hunt and a safe trip.

Are you flying yourself up there and where in Alaska are you going?

Just don't bring any horror stories back with you like Grizzly Man ended up with, lol.

Will you try to bring the meat back down here to the lower 48?

Shaun - Be sure to have some cash with you when you land at the airports. I understand that the airports at the small settlements are charging a fee for you putting your feet on the ground at their airports. One guy I see at the rifle range said he went fishing in Alaska in early July, and he had to pay a $75.00 use of the airport fee, when he landed, or the local constable would have locked him up.

This is not to spoil your fun, but to make you aware of a potential problem.

Enjoy the trip!!

not taking my own plane guys I am flying commercial as it was several thousand cheaper and since I would have to fly my own with stops in Canada I could not take the guns with me.

Not bringing the meat back I checked with hunters for the hungry and they declined the meat saying they don;t like meat from a garbage eater. They were telling me that this time of year the bear are eating their fav delicacy rancid meat and fish. I am going to have the hide made into a rug and the skull and killing bullet will go on my entertainment center.

Ever use an Ulu knife when skinning? Sounds like you know what you doing, but just in case for a bear rug an Ulu knife cuts down on those bad thru the hide slips.

Shaun; If you have any contact with people in law enforcement could you please try to get me a uniform patch? I'll gladly trade Vermont State Police with anyone who collects patches. All I need is an address to send it to.
Thanks, Otter
