| Super Moderator ![]() ![]() | Congratulations SKS forever! You can always use those skills regardless of what you do with the rest of your life. But...in the KC area EMT's are in big demand. I would expect that you will be able to find work most places in the USA when you've through with your certification process.

| Senior Member | I had my "First Responder" Certification, but since it is not a requirement for my job (at the rifle range), the County won't pay for it, so I just get their annual First Aid Cert, now. We (County Employees with First Aid Certs) are Emergency Personnel, any time an Emergency occurs, such as a major earthquake, fire, etc. ` |

| Member | I live in a small rural town with a population of about 800. I've been an EMT-B for over 20 years. There are 9 of us who formed the unit, and we own our own ambulance, building, and land. There have been ups and downs, but with this population, it's been real rewarding for the most part. I'm gonna let my cert drop next July. I'll be almost 60 yrs old, and my knees don't like some of the "activities".
