Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Danger!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!! Warning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have replaced all 4 of my Rem 700's with Timney triggers and retained the original safety with them per Timney instructions. It became quite obvious to me during installation that mechanically the Remington could fire when I slid the safety forward to the fire position (NOT BECAUSE OF THE TIMNEY). I never thought anything about it (nor have any done it) since I just assume many firearms might do this and am prepared for such a discharge. I saw a guy on the firing range have his M1 Garand discharge towards 12 o'clock when the range officer yelled out, "commence firing" and the guy slid his safety off.
What was a bigger concern to me was I discovered if the (not certain what it's called) "C" shaped spring retainer washer was not on correctly and you lost it the gun would not fire period. I dabbed a Small amount of epoxy over all of the them to make sure they would not work loose.
I did see on 60 minutes or some such thing 10 years ago a guy they interviewed who I believe shot himself in the foot while taking the safety off a Rem 700. Welllllllllllll...
One used to be able to adjust the Rem 700 triggers, in fact very well; I believe thats why they were so popular. Did they ever eliminate that with the newer ones. Haven't bought one for 10 years now.
I suppose it's why the Walker Fire Control System has never been modified. It's sort of like putting a warning on a fishing lure with treble hooks..."Do not swallow"
Typical lawyer seeking $$$.
"According to attorney Rich Miller (who has handled many cases against Remington),...."
I love my Remingtons and have had the triggers adjusted on all them. NEVER once had them fire off when I didn't pull the trigger.
