New Shotgun

I am in the market for a new semiauto and have been checking out the charles daly. I have always owned remington or winchester. I got to looking at warranties and discovered Remington just warrants their guns for 2 years, Benelli 5 years, Winchester and Browning both say that if your shotgun ever needs servicing, to contact a company service center. Charles Daly states that if your gun ever fails or need repaired for the lifetime of the orginal owner, it won't cost you a dime.

Has anyone here ever owned a Charle daly? If so, how is the quality? Do they measure up as far as reliability and strength? Give me some advise and opinions please before I spend the money. Thanks...

Remington doesn't need a warranty beyond 2 years to sell their guns. Remington auto shotguns are legendary for toughness and reliability. Reminton auto shotguns have been around (in one form or another) over 100 years.

In the last 30 years Charles Daly has become a "store brand" for guns from a dozen different manufacturers. Some are good, some are very good, but I don't see any of them still in business 100 years from now.

i'd recommend buying a remington or a browning. though they lack an implied warranty, the odds are 99.9:1 that you'll never need it.

I own Winchester, Remington and Charles Daly.

I don't have much experience with semi auto shotguns because I favor pumps more. Anyways, the only 2 I have shot were the Remington 11-87 and a Browining Gold 10 gauge. Both were very well built and reliable.

Cool

My #1 Semi-Auto Shotgun is a pre-ban HK/Benelli M1 Super 90.

I'm told the new Benelli automatics are awesome with less kick...

Trapfreek, I Plan On Using It To Hunt Deer And Turkey. I Have Had Several Win 1300's And Now Have 2 870's. When You Look At The Price Of The Daly's, I Wonder About Quality As They Are 1/2 The Price Of The 11-87 And The Winchesters. The Benelli Is Expensive Too, But I Could Buy A Daly Mag And A Super Mag For One Of The Others. I Know Of The Quality Of The Rem And Win, But When You Look At The Warranty Of The Daly, It's Hard Not To Buy One, Know What I Mean?

I bought a new Verona this year Just set up for deer. I was 450.50 with tax. I has real tree camo and grooved to receive a scope mount. It has nice tru-glow sights so i will be using it with open sights this year. It is a little over 6 pounds empty and weight becomes more imortant to me as i get older. However it does pack a punch with 3'' deer slugs.
