I've got a four cylinder/duel ignition 1948 Evinrude 5.5 H.P. outboard short shaft fishing motor for sale. It uses a fuel mixture of 16:1.
I inherited this motor from my father in law in 1961, who bought it new in 1949, and then I used it only a few times before it sat for the next 30 years in my garage on a motor stand. Got it serviced and started again by a Marine mechanic, and it's running decently now.
I'm tired of pulling the rope without having a neutral position for the propeller. Used it once every week for about two months, but it's time now for me to move up a couple of notches in boat motor features.
For more information contact me by P.M. and we can discuss this situation further. All offers will be given serious consideration. Buyer must either pick it up...or pay for shipping to your location. You are welcome to visit my home and look over the motor firsthand. I live in the Gladstone area of Kansas City.
Wish I could remember the old boy's name. There's a fella I found on Craigslist in KC who collects old outboards. Try checkin' Craigslist KC under boat motors wanted.

Asphalt Cowboy...thanks for the link to Craigslist KC. I've just finished reviewing it and found plenty of used boats, boat motors and more close to my home in KC, MO. I'm thinking now about advertising my 4 1/2 H.P. Evinrude on that site.
Believe it or not, I just found this thread...guess I got to visit G&G more often?
Dang OX, I sure wished you lived closer and I'd probably buy it from you tomorrow for my little 12' aluminum fishing boat...but, freight costs would kill me from your place to mine.
...and, Craig's List is a good seller/buyer intersection. I buy good items from there often.

LiveToShoot...Send me the $200 and shipping charges and I'll be happy to crate it up and send it your way. It needs a good home...and should have several hours of service left for someone's enjoyment.
