Just a little something for conversation. My dad always liked cars and he raised us kids to work with cars and grow to like them as much as he does. Dad was always a Ford type of man, owned a 54 Ford Sedan and a mid 60s Ford Maverick. He used to love Fords, until me a my brother turned 18 and got our cars. Dad gave us X ammount of money to split on our cars along with what we had saved up( ya know back then cars were cheap ) So I bought a 1979 Chevy C10 Long bed with a 250 I6. Nice machine right there yawll. Still have it and it just got painted by the way. I'll post a pic if yawll want. Anyhow, My dad hrew to like tht truck and bought him a 79 Chevy Nova and has never looked back. He died here a couple years ago and he was riding in a 2002 Buick Century( another nice machine )
Thats my story anyway. Please post up if you want to tell us more about your car/truck. I hope to hear from all of yawll in this post. Any replies to this thread will be greatly appreciated and thanks to all of yawll or participating!

Cool! Argualbly the best V8 ever made by the General, except maybe the 350 V8. haha! Boy I bet that that thing will fly if you give her the gas, huh?

I drive a 1996 red Ford Eddie Bauer SUV which has 98,000 miles. Plan to keep it at least another 50K if it continues to operate with only changing oil, filter, and of course, air in it's tires. Here in Missouri we have bad air caused by politicians this time of the year, so that needs changing regularly, too.
90 Nissan 4wd Pickup -- highly reliable 250K miles original engine and trans.
2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP -- 103K miles -- 2nd transmission, new power rack, new pulleys for the entire engine, lighting and cruise control unit. Will never buy another american made car again. (exception is large diesel truck, engine cummins or Cat)
I drive a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo and I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Sport for my YL. and neither of them are SUVs, they're utility Vehicles, nothing "Sport" about them.

1991 Toyota Tercel - don't laugh, 32MPG and it's paid for.
Hey cant argue with that! I dont blame you for that purchase. Two of mine are paid off and that is one feature right there that none of these cars on a dealer lot can offer huh? I support folks like us who buy cars to hold onto them. How many miles do you have on it now? BTW, nice talking to ya and hope to hear more from you soon. Thanks again!

Wow, a Park Avenue? My G-mamma has a Century that gets about 30-33mpg on the hi way. Thats pretty impressive mileage that you are getting with a car of that size! Whats your take on the new Lacrosse and Lucerne? Buick claims that they should get Century mileage with Park Avenue ride and rifinement. That sounds pretty good there now. I always say, stick with the General, he makes the best cars. BTW, Its been nice talking with you and I hope to hear more from you in the future.

PowerPointPlus...I know nothing about those two Buick models (yet). My wife's a Buick person and I'm a Ford man. But when we travel together she insists on riding in that big old box car which she loves because of it's comfort.
Paying cash for a vehicle is the only way to go if there's a choice. No interest to pay, and if you put the money you'd be spending for payments in a good investment, it should earn enough interest to buy several guns.
I love Buiks!! I was looking for one over my Monte, but didn't find one in my range. IMO, the best American car being produced right now. I love the Park Aves and LeSabers. I want one!!!
Oh boy, your wife is going to have to get you off Fords. hahaha Just messing. Ford makes good cars like the rest but I am just partial to the General. You are very correct by saying buying with cash is the only way to go. My G-mamma bought her Century flat out for $18500 and that was that, she'd have paid $20000+ by financing. Heck thats a lot of guns! hahaha! Nice talking with you, and hope to hear more from you!
