Interesting concept. Good luck getting your stuff back, and welcome to the forum.

Hiya Ranger. If it is ok with you guys, I think I'll put this over in the powder keg unless someone can think of a reason not to. Move Complete. Let me know if you need it put back. From what I gather, this would be more appropriate here.

Too bad. Why didn't they see your safe? Is it well hidden?

Don't be TOO confident or comfortable thinking they/he/she didn't see the safe.

It could well have been the case that it was 'quick in....quick out' in fear that you might have had a silent alarm, the fact they are amatuerish, cautious, etc.

Most home burglaries are accomplished within five minutes from the time they are in.

Those that stick around have some knowledge or bravado that keeps them there longer.

Albeit a small percentage some 'quick' burglaries are a prelude looking for bigger things the next go 'round. Let's hope that it's not that slim possibility.

And don't forget

The easiest way into a safe is to have the safe owner open it. I don't mean to make you paranoid; it was probably just a punk kid. But if the safe was somewhere they could've seen it, I'd be aware of my surroundings for a while.
