ok here goes. i bought this a while back and at first it was pretty tight so i worked the slide a lot, used my dremel tool to polish the ramp. that just took a few minutes and changed the tension on the extractor by just bending it a little with my fingers. ok hows it shoot? i had occasional stove pipes for the first couple hundred rounds ,BUT it hasnt hiccuped in over 3500 rounds !i shoot it a lot all the time. i am the weak link in this equation. ive never put it on a bench so i cant tell you exactly how accurate it really is ,but i love this gun!! best $421 ive ever spent! P.S. lifetime warranty included.
oh yeah its a 7+1 shot old school pistol. the kimber mags i bought for it hold 8. if that wont do it im just outgunned!

I really like the "no nonsense" look of the pistol. The SA will be my next addition. And I understand the warranty is for the pistol, not just the original buyer.
I really miss my SA 1911, it was set up as an IPSIC race gun. My whole collection of weapons were stolen, several years ago. As long as it was feed a special handload it was always reliable. Hope the bastards that stole it never figured it out.
Hey schu, welcome to G&G. Man that really sucks about your guns, I can't stand a damm thief! Hopefully you're rebuilding the collection, but if not, we're glad to have you anyway.
Any opinions here about the Rock Island Armory guns? Here's mine, paid $380 at a hardware store, Sarco has 'em for $329. Damn nice gun too, has a loyal following. I just bought a RIA Compact from Sarco, should be here next week. 3-1/2" barrel, shortened grip, otherwise just like this one.
With the Crimson Trace grips. I also have a Commander hammer and wide grip safety for it from King's, just gotta put 'em on.

Thanks Toolman, I had lost interest for a long time. I used to be a big time reloader, shot, 100 to 250 ounds per week in Jax Fla. Recently spent time in Texas and realized how much my son and I enjoyed shooting. We used to go the the range every weekend, since he was four.....
So know I own-
AR-15, Olympic Arms
Ruger Vaquaro (sp) .357,
Tarus stainless revolver, with comp, in .357,
Ruger 10/22, stainless,
S&W 629 Hunter Classic II, .44 mag. (for sale)
T/C contender G-2, .17 HMR, carbine, scoped with Harris Bi-pod.
So now I'm building a new range in the back yard. Should have 150 yard shot to the berm and of course close up for pistols.

Reason: Forgot, my favorite gun. Ruger SingleSix in Stainless
thats really awesome how you can have a range in your backyard now way i could do that
No kidding. That's always been one of my dreams, my own private range, out back behind the 40x60 shop building! A covered shooting area, with benches and tables, basically a picnic pavillion with a range on one side. Booyah, baby!
i have never been bitten by the hammer.
i dont know where these guys put their hands to get pinched
Ain't hard for me. The spur of the grip safety presses into my hand, and the skin on my hand kinda puffs up around that spur. The slide slams back and slams that hammer against the spur. If there's any meat in between, it gets tenderized.
I bought myself another RIA GI model right before Halloween, I wanna keep this one stock looking. I just put these grips on it, from Armscor. I also have two sets of surplus genuine WWII Colt grips on the way, so I'll be changing them again. Should look similar to these.
I love that simple "combat pistol" look! Can't afford a real WWII Colt, but I'm happy with a clone.
