What Do I Have Here?

Over 20 years ago, I bought a pair of Carbines and have shot them on and off since then. A friend advised me to get some sense of value for insurance purposes. I hope that someone can give me some advice.

Both have a very faint imprint just behind the rear sight on the receiver which appears to be ""NAT L ORD". The serial numbers are 15436 and 15917.

Any help would really be appreciated.

You have a pair of commercial copies. National Ordnance manufactured those in the late 60s and early 70s. They currently would have values of $275-$350 depending on condition. They are fair shooters, but don't rank among the best of the copies, just half way up or down the scale depending on your viewpoint. Ok shooters, but no collector value.

I had a like-new Nat. Ord. carbine. I never had a problem with it. It was a good shooter too.
