That had to be a pretty hungry couger to venture down and attempt to go after one of the dogs.

The Mule played a pretty big part in the American West. It was even used in cattle round-ups by some cowboys as it was quicker on it's feet than a horse. And it could go into rocky or rugged terrain as a horse was to nible. Not as fast as a horse and not as big as a horse, but this one here sure had a big heart.

I'll bet that mule sure got a lot more respect after this encounter with the Cougar. The dogs shown in some of the pictures look like cheerleaders watching in the background.

That must have been one hungry mountain lion to attack that many horses and people. Great pictures. Thanks for posting them.
