Which one?

I am looking at either a Ruger MKII 22lr pistol or a CZ 82.I'm somewhat of a new pistol shooter and think a 22 would be good for a beginer. My only experence with pistols is with a cz 52 and makarov. They are the same price and I can't pick. I like the MKII because of the caliber. You can get 22 bullets anywhere and its cheap. I like the cz 82because my dad has a makarov and their very alike. Also the cz is a bigger caliber. I would use this pistol for plinking and maybe a little gopher hunting at my grandpas farm. Thx for the replies.

For your needs I would get the Ruger, like you said "A 22 would be good for a beginer". Later on you can still pick up a Makarov.

I'm with SK on this one.
The MK II is a great choice.

The mark II is the better choice. I started with a mark I and have literally put thousands of rounds though it and had no problems. They can be a pain to disassemble but it will get easier to do each time.

Do you think that the bull barrel is needed? I like the adjustable sights on the bb model. Thx. YH12

These are my 2 Ruger Mark II's. One is a Competition Target, the other I just recently got and is a NRA Endowment, Bill Ruger Commerative Model. Both are very good, accurate shooters. The Mark II is no longer avaliable new from Ruger, having been replaced by the newer Mark III. The Mark III has a loaded chamber indicator, High-Vis sights, and a magazine release on the side rather than on the bottom like the Mark I's and Mark II's. I'm not a big fan of scopes on handguns, but this one came with rings and bases so I thought I would give it a shot. It's as accurate off a rest as most of my rimfire rifles at 25 yards. Bill T.
