I have heard a lot of great stuff about the K31. I want to turn one into a long range tack driver. How accurate is this rifle? Can I take it out to the 200 yard mark and see good results? Can this stand side by side with my Remington 700?

What is a good price for one? I found an all matching #s with ID tag in Beechwood for 139.00, is that a decent price?

They are very accurate for a surplus rifle. You should see decent results out to 200 yards - easy. However, mounting a scope requires a special mount. I have not heard how well these mounts work.

I doubt that the typical k-31 will hang with the typical Rem 700. It would depend on the specific gun and shooter. My k-31 will not hang with my varmint model Rem 700, but I would not expect it too. Still, I love the K-31.

The price you mentioned for the rifle seems very good. However, Ammo is not as cheap as other surplus though. Walnut stocks and matching numbers both add value.

Summary, buy it; you won't regret it.

You need to join that club quickly...the nicer K31's are almost gone from the suppliers...even starting to see electropencil K31's out there!

You can still find some nice ones on gunbroker but they have doubled from when they 1st hit the shores...(still not bad at $175-$220 for a super nice one for the quality of these guns)

I have a beech and a walnut both in darn near 100% condition including the wood (minimal dents/dings)

St.Marie Graphics makes a sidemount scope mount that can be taken off/put back on with no loss of zero and no drilling...200 yds? No problem.....

I just can't figure out which one I want to scope...

Swiss GP11 ammo is $25-$30 for 60 rds depending on where you get it....match quality stuff though....

I have noticed that they are drying up and wanted to jump on the bandwagon while there is still time. I like the idea of the straight pull bolt, makes a lot of sense.

Classic Arms has some reasonable prices. They are right here in state and about 2.5 to 3 hours drive away from me. Looks like a day trip may be in order.
