Wal Mart has finally lost it!

went to pick up some plinking ammo from walley world. The regular Remington UMC ammo which was 5.33 a box is now 6.44 a box!!!! are these fools crazy!!! The clerk says we have went up 7% on ALL ammo.. OK last time i checked my math 1.11 of 6.44 was not 7%... I think it is time for me to start ordering on line.. screw wal mart...

Unhappy

Be careful of shipping costs - it'll eat you alive. The transport companies are taking lessons from Big Oil.

Its not just Wal-Mart. If you haven't bought any ammo reciently you are in for a big surprise. Everyones prices have gone way up, nothing new it started some time ago. Not only have prices skyrocketed, alot of suppliers are out of stock

It isn't just about Wal-Mart.

Sometime back I posted a thread or post about ALL ammo and reloading components going up after January 1st once the Dems took control.

Most gun shops blame it on Democratic imposed new taxes and costs for interstate shippment and, in the case of imported ammo, much higher import tariffs and many importers are bucking so there is less imported ammo on shelves, also.

We are seeing crunches all around here and yet, Wal-Mart still remains one of the cheapest.

I was at Shooters World over the weekend and a brick of 500 .22LR is $19.95! Yep....no misprint there.

Don't blame the horse when it's the trainer that is whipping the heck outta us. LOL

Everybody went up

Same thing in TX. Prices were up at my local gun shop, about 3.00 more for .45 and 2.00 more for .223. Metal prices, and shipping to blame. We better get a reloader before they go up. All about supply and demand.

Yeah, I forgot about the blame on metal prices but that seems to be a big culprit, also.

The U.S. dollar is tanking, blame it on who you want to, and ammo is worth more. Solid goods are skyrocketing, if you are in construction you know what I mean, due to reasons I wont get into.

Since you are in Mississippi, I would call Gulf Coast Ammunition in Groves Texas at 1-800-725-6578. They will ship it to you UPS Ground, visa/ Mastercard...They will tell you price and shipping on Wolf or Sellier&Bellot ammo, shipping shouldn't be too bad...

Ammo is steadily going up. I just bite the bullet, no pun inteaded, and buy it. You are far better off to buy bulk in lots of 1000. Do you have any gun shows coming up, that is where I get all my bulk ammo.

Maine Cartridge Company (207-826-2267) has 1000 rd. brass case FMJ for 200.00. Averages about 4.00 a box. Shipping runs about 18.00-25.00 depending on location. I own a shop in Tx and even most of my distributors are out. Gulf Coast ammo is good if you can ever get anyone to answer. Also they were backordered last week as well.

While I may not be too supportive of Wal Mart's ethics, they have always done me right, in regards to guns and ammunition transactions. They have very good prices on firearms and accessories.
