After weeks of waiting because of lousy weather, I finally got to get out for some trigger time.
I shot the AR50 for the first time. I was amazed at the great trigger pull. So much better than my last .50. Its better in every way than my last .50.
Maybe waiting for a few weeks was for the better. I had time to put a Harris bipod on it, a new Leupold scope and bore sight it. With all that time to tinker, it was perfect at the range and only had to adjust elevation two clicks.
People came up the road when they heard it fire to see what was making that noise. Two people asked to take a picture of it!
For the first time ever, I didnt offer to let others shoot it. I guess because its new. Maybe next time.
I shot a Norinco AK with a drum magazine. I was not impressed at all. It had a folding stock which was sloppy and affected accuracy.
It was a perfect day until my .45 acp decided to screw up. I just finally got it apart. What a chore!!!! The slide would not come back and eject the empty. It was the barrel hinge pin thingy. It broke and wedged in such a way that it totally locked up the gun.
That didnt mess up my day. Its a cheap part I can fix myself. Yep, I needed trigger time. I was getting cabin fever.
Lots of lead, nice weather, shooting lots of different guns....great day!
My last .50 was a Vulcan/Hesse. Run away from those things! I dont like to say bad things about firearms except for that one. It was just plain dangerous. Still fun and I put several hundred rounds through it but I was always afraid of it whenever I pulled the trigger.
The .45 that messed up was a Rock Island Armory. Its funny that I posted a long time ago about it never failing to feed or fire. That was true. I never expected it to break! The part is only about 3-7 bucks.
