The biggest farm subsidy in history. And I doubt it did much to help the farmers who actually needed help.
But it fits the pattern of this administration; look at the tax breaks they pumped into the petroleum companies who were racking up record profits. And in spite of the lip service, they've done very little to help the suppliers and developer of alternative fuels and energies.
Nor did they help at the other end, with efforts to cut back on consumption. Remember Cheney's snide remark? "Conservation may be a personal virtue, but it's nothing to base an energy policy on."
