That's generally what they do at dog shows, testing for posture and bone structure and the like.

Okay, all my red hair is stuck up under my lucky KU Jayhawks camo hat. And yes, that bird is bigger than any hubby has killed.

10 inch, 26 lbs.

Funny story about this bird. Husband was over in another field. I had sat for 3 hours and only saw hens and jakes. So, you know after you sit for that long you start to get a little numb. So I layed my gun down, stood up and stretched. Here comes three birds walking in that size. So I'm standing there with my hands above my head, not moving, and these birds are about 15 yards away. They saw me, but since I didn't move they didn't fly. They turned around and started walking back out, putting at me. When they got behind a tree I hit the ground and got my gun. By then they were about 40 yards behind a tree and out of shot. This one came back one last time from behind the tree to look, so I shot ... and he dropped. When I went to pick him up I couldn't see where I hit him. I killed that bird with one pellet in the ear. Can you believe the husband called me a hussy?

Remington 870 20g

And yeah, actually he and I take off in two different directions now. He just took a job a year ago and works 3pm to 11pm and a lot of weekends. So most of the time I'm on my own. But I guess that's the purpose of going to the woods is the peace and quiet.

My ex badgered me for months that she wanted me to take her hunting, she felt it would be "Good" for us to share something she knew I was so fond of.. Sad thing is I knew where it would lead, I told her if she wanted to hunt with me she needed to get in shape to be tromping about the fields so I asked her to get my ruck sack put 10 lb bag of sugar or flour in it a take a daily hike around our block every day until she could go three rounds without stopping for a breather. She fussed and whined that she couldn't "DO THAT" but thought she could go quail hunting with me just as she was. We got out towards the Cleveland National forest area she couldn't go more than 50 feet at a whack without having to sit down for a rest, all she was carrying was a 410 O/U and a half box of shells! I had a day pack with extra shells for my 20ga, her 410 our lunch an ice pack with her soda pop in it and I was toting 2 2qt canteens along with my normal vest gear. It was without a doubt between her whining and scaring off the quail the most absolute miserable hunt of my life! She never asked to go again! Thank God!

I took my wife with me hunting 28 years ago and when she went to complaining about the ticks and moskeeters. I left her in the woods over night and went back and picked her up the next morning. No more complaining !...A.H

Go to the top of the mountain during the 2 week squirrell season and leave a cooler sitting out at one of the pull off the road camp sites. That's how we found ours
