I started my military career early, here is the my first photo in uniform, summer 1942.

LOL I wore a lot of sailor caps when I was a kid. I did'nt ever want to take them off either.
I remember wearing one to Kindergarten. The teacher command me to remove my Sailor cap and I was'nt going to do it !!! She even tried to snatch it, but I was quicker than she was LOL.
I crawled up under a cabinet that was over loaded with school stuff so she could'nt slid it to get me out from under it.
She went and got 3 other people out of the office to try to get me out from under it.
The rickety cabinet had seen better day's so they thought they better not move it.

A while later my ma ma came walking through the door and she took me home and I did'nt have to ever go back...That cap was brand new !!! Got it for my Birthday just days before going to that place...A.H
