SHTF Knife

If you could have 1 knife, in a SHTF scenario, what would it be?

I would have to say the SOG Navy Seal knife

SOG SEAL Knife 2000

Its a toss up. Either the knife Rambo had or the one Crocodile Dundee had.

I would probably go with the USN Mk III Mod. 0 Seal knife.

Or on a tight budget, or if you want more than one:

As its name suggests, our G.I. Tanto is a no-nonsense tactical knife that comes with a legion of practical uses. It may be lean and spare, but it delivers the goods where they count the most! The broad Tanto point blade, integral quillion guard, and Paracord wrapped handle, exemplify a tactical knife stripped down to its bare essentials. It’s ground razor sharp out of 1055 carbon steel with a hard spring temper and protected by a black, rust resistant finish so it’s ready to take all the abuse you and Mother Nature can dish out. Heavy, sharp and wonderfully balanced it’s easy to throw by either the blade or handle and it hits with real vigor. In a survival or self-defense situation, it can be quickly and easily converted into a spear or war club. Just remove the Para cord wrap and use it to lash the blade securely to a suitable wooden shaft! Best of all, it’s a great value. Please don’t throw away hundreds and hundreds of dollars on similar knives sold by convicted felons and rip off artists posing as elite “military operators”. Get the real G.I. Tanto from Cold Steel and get more than your money’s worth.
Specifications:
Overall: 12"
Thick: 4mm
Weight: 10.4 oz.
Steel: 1055 Carbon

....and for a grand total of......
$29.99!!!!!!

I was reading the above post and I had a quick question about the Cold Steel Knife. I get the turning it into a spear. However, I don't get the converting into a war club.

I'd never be limited to just one knife. I carry a fixed-blade and a smaller folder. But if I had to, I'd carry my KABAR.

I would keep several handy. I still have my ole K-Bar from service days, but I am also rather fond of the SpecPlus (Ontario Knives) version of the Pilot's survival knife, better quailty steel. I also have a discontinued Buck knife that is similar to the K-Bar but with a thicker. heavier blade. A folder or two and a couple of favorite pocket knives. Not to mention the old Multitool.

I think the multi-tool would probably actually be the best choice SHTF. However, I just like a nice knife that can intimidate with size and presence as well as be effective. That is why I like the Ka-Bar.
