Well CMP has 34,000 of them that will be up for sale starting in about a month. That should be enough that you can find a couple!

I have been looking for another carbine or 2 or 3. The gun shows here are way over priced. Sounds like you have ordered from them before. Any tips on ordering a carbine from CMP? Thank in advance.

To order from CMP:

Proof of citizenship
CMP-affiliated club membership
competitive shooting participation
any license, permit, or Firearms Owner ID card
FFL shipping address

They ship directly to you. You don't need any FFL involved. It comes in a Fedex truck to your house. You just need to have someone there who can sign for it. If you are ordering, go to the CMP site and download the forms. Remember, there are a couple that you will need to have notarized. They do the check before they ship.

I thought all mail ordered firearms had to go from FFL to FFL?

My state requires a background check when buying a fireman from a dealer. When buying fomr CMP is it more like a person to person transfer?

There is an exception in federal law for CMP. They do the background check before they ship so it doesn't have to go through a local dealer. For purposes of shipping, they are the local dealer. Incidentally, ALL states require the background check. It is actually federal law, not state law. The only way to avoid this check is to be a licensed dealer or collector with an FFL of some type. As I said, CMP ships directly to you at your place of residence/office.
