I've been repairing medical equipment of various types for the last 15 years. Prior to that, was the IT department at a local private university. At present, I maintain equipment for a specialized cholesterol testing lab. We do one test, called the VAP test. The equipment was custom made and the manufacturer then went belly-up, so I'm the guy. I also put together prototypes for our engineers.

I'm a Technical Writer in the aerospace industry. I also travel as an instructor to provide training on various avionic and ground support systems. Our customers are primarily military; both U.S. and foreign, though we also have equipment on many civil platforms. I've been doing this for about 5 years. Previous to this, I was an avionics technician for 20 years, 8 of those in the USAF, and another couple years as a field engineer (also in the aerospace industry).

My Dad always told me I'd make a good cop (after his chosen profession) but I chose not to... at least in the civilian sector.
I joined the USAF in 1993 and have been a military cop ever since.

shawnboy, what company do you work for, if you don't mind saying. Wondering if I've ever driven one of your rigs.
Larry, I always wanted to be a cop but my dad told me, "no one likes cops when they show up and everyone loooooves firemen when they show, even if their house burns to the ground".

I'm a cashier. temporarily. I have to turn 18 before I can get out of the front end, but then it's out to the floor and then into management, possibly with a pit stop at unloading(my store is trying to get their liquor license, so you have to be 21 to do anything over the entire store)

shawn, we have a bunch of pierces, in fact I drive on at work. It looks like my department is trying to make our whole fleet pierce. I think we have 3 rigs on order, a ladder, a pumper and a squrt. In the last few years we've gotten 3 ladders, a rescue (my rig), and 2 pumpers. If you want to see some of the rigs working PM me and I can send you some pics.

Retired AF.
Thought I might take it easy in my retirement and become a scriptwriter for adult videos.
After I found out my writing was substandard for the task, I transitioned to a commercial pilot instead
