AK in .223

I have basically an endless supply of .223, and I like the price of AK's. The only AK in .223 I could find was the AK101, but to get ahold of one of those in the US I could probably have 2 AR's. So does anyone know of either a conversion kit for AK's to .223 or a manufacturer that makes a .223 AK?

Thanks.

There are several variants of the .223 ak's. Some will be identified as the 5.56. You can shoot the .223 ammo in a 5.56 gun, but not the other way.

I know that Saiga has a .223 ak. Not sure what the other variants are named, but someone will pitch in.

If I'm not mistaken, the mags are a little more expensive, but your free ammo should make up for that.

Speaking of, if your supply is really endless, I'd like some. lol

Found this one, I have a few questions-

- Can I get aftermarket furniture?

- Hows it shoot?

- Can I mount a scope?

Saiga Conversion

I think thats what I'm going to do, make it my own project. I should be able to get one for $300 bucks, so I'll have a little money left over in order to buy modifying supplies.

Can you get any 30 round mags for this? Or do you have to modify milsurp ones?

You modify the rifle and use Galil Orilte mags. You add a bullet guide from dinzzagATyahooDOTcom and all is well.

If you are going to get a Saiga and you are going to order it off the net go to classicarms.us, he has the lowest prices there is.

I would look on ak-47.net to do some research on the .223 AK. I had a Mak-90 in .223 and it was great, I just wanted more punch.

Now if only he'd start carrying the new .30-06 Saiga... now that has more punch.

armsofamerica has the 30-06 Saiga.

The 223 Saiga is probably one of the best deals in a 223 AK. The only other variant that comes close is the WASR-3.

Othesr are available, but far more expensive. They include the Bulgarian milled SAM-5.
