typical!

tonight on our local news there was a story of an underaged kid that was in a bar, past curfew and got shot in the face and still cant speak or walk...normally i would have brushed it off as "just another shooting" but the kids mother and a few friends of hers were picketing the club chanting about how the bar should check i.d's more and how police should beef up enforcement of the curfew etc...!!!?!!! all i could think of was why in the world wouldnt his mother be in charge of telling him where he can and cant go and when to be home? its like she expected the community to be the parent that she just didnt have time to be! ugh...the world is going to heii in a hand basket!

Hey, she gave birth to him! Now it's OUR job to raise him!
Come to think of it, maybe it's the school systems' fault, or society in general, or Dick Cheney, or the gun manufacturers, or ........

People Nowadays don't even take responsibility for their own childrens Actions, She should be charged with Neglect...for being Unaware where he was and what he was doing!( Since he was violating Curfew).

"its like she expected the community to be the parent that she just didnt have time to be!"

Exactly! I once worked at a Mall Game Arcade. Soccermom drops her 12 year old kid off, gives him a twenty, and asks ME to watch him and make sure he doesn't leave while she shops for a couple hours! I told her straight out I WAS NOT a childcare service - she could watch her own brat. She didn't like that. Tough - not my job, Mom.

He blew thru the twenty in about three minutes . . .

Parents nowadays think they drop the welp, clothe and feed it - the State can educate and care for the brat. Small wonder they don't learn manners or society's rules.

The parents and the child should be responsible for the actions of the child, not the busniness that they have been dumped into.

Parent(s) was probably there and drunk. Maybe was the reason for the shooting.
