So, I found one guys. Blackhawk Down.
It was being used by some of the Somali Militia. I didn't plan on even watching the movie, but I saw the CETME and said "!!!!"
Here's a screenshot.

Also .. I'm pretty sure it was in "Heat" with Al Pacino, and Val Kilmer.. Can anyone verify?

Maybe an HK91?

Think there might of been one in "Heat". I believe Val Kilmer shoots it.

Yes Heat has the G3, why Val didn't use that in the bank robbery shootout peaves me.
I have noticed the Black Hawk Down G3's also the other day.

That one Pacino is shooting looks more like a G3 than a proper CETME, but I think I'm prejudiced because of the synthetic furniture. You can tell by the sight; that's not the flip-type peep that's on my CETME but rather the turn-for-the correct-range type of peep the G3s have.

Pacino has an FAL I believe (Heat is one of my Favs)

Another movie I just remebered was a Brandon Lee movie called Ra[id Fire. The cops use them in stakeouts before the raid.

Flip type? You mind taking a picture because my CETME has the turning sight.

Well when you said flip, I thought you literally meant like it flips up and down. Like a light switch or something.

Apparently there are two styles of rear sights on the CETME's.

The one that seems to be more prevalent is basically flat blades that flip forward and backward. I believe the front sight is adjustable to change point of impact. If you have this type rear sight, you'll have to have the old sight removed and a sight base welded on the top of the receiver to use the HK rear sight. RTG Parts, referenced above, has everything you'll need.

Other rifles, like mine, came with a turret rear sight that had 4 peep holes at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock for different yardages and is adjustable for windage but not elevation. I don't know if Century made these sights or if they are G3 units but with a little practice you can hit really well with them. A 6" bullseye at 100 yards is not much of a problem after you figure out the "Kentucky elevation". On these rifles you cannot adjust the front sight since it is held in place by a roll pin.

RTG Parts has HK rear sights that are adjustable for windage and elevation to replace the turret rear sight. These have a V-notch for 100 yards and 3 peep holes at the other 90 degree points for longer distances. These are a drop in replacement for the turret rear sight that came on the CETME. A couple of posts back had the link to what you need to do this.

Good luck and have a blast........literally.

Found another one guys, but I think that they're actually G3's. They're kind of hard to spot because they're in a pile of M-16's/AR-15's. Look in the upper right hand corner for one of the G3's.

Nice one! Is that Lord of War?

I was watching Ronin last night and I think they have a G3 when they are doing the first heist to get the case...there's a car chase and most of the bad guys have Uzi's. Then I think Deniro whips the G3 out of the car and goes to work.

Yeah, that's Lord of War. One of my favorite all time movies. I thought I put that it was Lord of War in my post.

Funny that you menation Ronin because I was contemplating watching it a few days ago. Guess I should now that there's a G3 in there.

Dang.

Well, it's still applicable to the forum, as we're a G3/CETME forum.
The Internet Movie Firearms Database calls it as an HK93.

Next time I get the chance, I'll look closer.

That site has a pretty good shot of the magazine.

So, I've been lurking for the last couple weeks. I wasn't going to register, but saw this thread and had to mention a show with the G3. Anyone see "flashpoint"? Cheesey acting, but great storyline. Anyway, the episode "between hearbeats". IMDb Video: See All, Hear All It's all covered but in this clip they say it's an HK G3 IMDb Video: Maximum Caution About 1 min. 30 sec. into it.
