Can't put moderators on ignore list???

Why not?????

I know why......because Chris set it up that way.

I guess my question what is the rationale to that? Just because they have a "status"??????

No, it is so that if they need to PM you in order to tell you to "knock it off" or to warn you on something, that warning cannot be blocked.

If you are being harrassed by a moderator, I would take it up personally with Chris.

Right on. You don't know what a moderator will say in one post or another, but being able to ignore them would mean you couldn't hear them if there was something they needed to tell you.

If you feel a moderator is acting inappropriately, talk to Chris. Mentioning it, as long as you're respectful and reasonable, should make a difference in how the mod chooses his words and actions. If they're just annoying, unfortunately it comes with the territory of being on a site that someone else owns.

Dale,

Send me a message in the chatroom, private message, email or if you want to call me!

I'm here for you if there is a problem. This also goes for anyone else as well.

Chris

Mods are human too and can potentially rub people the wrong way.

The job title is Moderator, not St. Moderator.

One major challange I have as a moderator is deleting "spam" messages. Thanks to the many PM's I receive from members, I get notified ASAP and delete those spam messages quickly, if some other moderator has not done the deed earlier. My PM box has always been available for members who want to communicate with me about any subject.

Communications related to moderating can't be ignored. Communications by moderators not related to their moderating can still be ignored the old fashioned way.

please lets not go knocking things around here, this is simply the best forums i have ever experianced, any body has a problem feel free to contact Chis, i'm sure all will be answered and addressed, I hardly ever visit the firing line forums any more because of smart a** people and the moderators seem to not care when someone seems to go off on you, that i cannot tolerate and do not like at all

I agree... The tone of all the members on this site is great! I have been on other, non gun related, forums for years and find they always end up in wars in several threads each week. It is nice to come in here and learn about a subject I love without dealing with the drama!

Good work!

Im a member of an outdoor forum my mate owns,we dont have moderators,we have forum leaders.Where people are in charge of their interest/subject.The leader is responsible for their section, like keeping interest in it.And if there is action to be taken the owner dishes out the justice. But we generally get along fine. One thing we do have is a forum called the Boxing ring, this is a no holds bared(within reason) place to have a whinge or let off some steam.this is the warning at the top of that forum

Every now and then everyone gets pi$$ed with another person or just needs a place to vent this is it. WARNING:~ this forums contains sexual, abusive, foul and offen offensive material enter at own risk and deal with it as a adult.

We as moderators try to be as level headed as possible when it comes to disputes. If you are having problems with another member of the forum, please send one of us a PM, and we will try to work things out.
