They are similar at a local shop I frequent. Maybe because of the democrats taking full control is why...or could be simply prices rising due to "gas shortages"

Chris, I think you are right about gun prices going up because of the anti-gun changeover in Congress, especially with bills like HR1022 in committee. Those of you reading this, if you haven't already done so, please call or email the Representative in your district in the U.S. House of Reps and ask them to oppose HR1022.

I have a Bersa and always thought they were UNDER priced. It's a terriffic pistol with things that people pay extra i.e. over travel 'peg', adjustable sights, all steel not plastic, ejection port relieved. etc. I am VERY happy with mine and carry it daily unless I am carrying my Glock :>)

Just saw a Bersa 9 UC at Cabela's last week for $425 full retail. You use to be able to buy them for $350. Next to it was Beretta/Stoeger 8000 cougar 9 for the same price.
Checking around I found a LGD had a cougar for $369. Other dealers had them as high as $460. Check around by phone before buying you can save some cash.
The cougar 9 came home with me.

From a purely economic point of view...... there WILL be noticable higher prices in items that are under consistant demand or increasing demand. (Example of former: food prices. Example of latter: Guns and ammo)

The reason we don't see it in other items as yet is because prices are actually being deflated for items currently NOT in demand. Retailers keep lowering the price to get the "market" back on line. The consumers are still playing their cash close to the vest, so to speak.

Once the economy begins to recover and we get back into the old tried and true "spend, spend, spend" mode (with our Congress setting the example) you can expect a rather severe spurt of inflation. My personal guess will be of a level to match the worst of the Carter Years. (For those of you who had to endure THAT debilitating era.)

Right now the Consumer Price Index is 6.? percent lower than this time last year. (Be advised that the CPI does NOT include food, fuel, etc.) This fits the observable data, but, hold your breath when this turns around, for it WILL be virtually "breathtaking" otherwise.

I think all gun prices have gone up since BO has been in office.
Or at least they all have where I live, just as all ammo prices have gone up.
Some places not much and others are just flat ridiculous.
One shop in the area is selling boxes of Wolf for 25.00.
