What do you..M1

Gentlemen,
...has made the M1 Garand so collectable as well as a range rifle for shooters. I think that this started in the late '80's early 90's when shipments of these rifles started coming into the US from South Korea. These were the Blue Sky's and a few other gun dealers getting them into the US. Yes, there was a small jump in interest into these rifles. Now however, many more people found out about the CMP and Garand collecting is going thru the roof. With the prices so high people are checking to make sure that they have the correct M1 Rifle down to the smallest part. OK Here it comes. What made you get into M1 Garand Rifles, either collecting or for shooting?
Just looking for some input on this

Need some help with hits guys

Thanks again

First of all: The story's my dad told about his military day's in the 50's
Second: reading about these rifles and the history behind them

Why the Garand?

Simple.

It's the rifle I learned to shoot on. No .22, no air rifle, no shotgun; first firearm I ever fired was an M1 Garand rifle.

Both shooting (our club has garand and milsup competitions) and to honor the memory of my uncle who carried one as a marine "surviver" of the south pacific.

What better way to have a piece of history than to own one of the finest rifles ever designed and produced for the American fighting men. It is to honor Mr. Garand, his excellent invention, and the fine soldiers that used them, and even the soldiers that used our other weapons, wherever they fought or are fighting. All other military rifles are just wanna bes, but there is no comparison. They will always be in the shadow of the mighty Garand.

Since I was a kid, I always wanted one. It's the mystique, a legend, a savior. They have charisma. They are like the Ferraris of the firearm world.
It's an honor to own one and they bring prestige, honor, respect, and awe wherever they go. Royalty in wood and steel.

Oddly enough as I understand it the M1 Garand is STILL the U.S. main "Battle" rifle, it has been usurped by the M14 (My favorite) the m16 A's a plenty and the newer saws and etc long guns but these are not classified under my understanding as "Main Battle Rifles" The Garand remains to many a service man and woman as the ultimate unstoppable Battle rifle to date. My thoughts, they may be incorrect but they are as I understand them.
