Blogging, your own little personal space on the world wide web to give your opinion and let others comment on it. Also a place to privately put thoughts if you just want to put them somewhere.
It's a virtual padded room where you can hit your head against the wall and scream about whatever you want and no one will know unless they look through the little window so they can point & laugh.
You can only bash your head against the wall twice, though, because 3 times is just too much for the wall to handle. The doctors will tell you what food you can eat and what excercises you can do, even if you know you need more or less.

Reason: Automerged Doublepost
think of it as an online diary that anybody can read. some people use them for political puposes, some just for fun. Mine is just a place for me to express myself that isnt a forum.
You could try and see if IMG code works in a blog post.
Think of the blog feature as your corner where you can say what you want as long as it isn't illegal, threatening, racist, obscene, that whole deal. Nothing that violates forum content standards either, so go easy on the language and don't write or post images of anything indecent, and if you feel the need to criticize forum staff, keep it respectful and don't rant about how lousy G&G is, who provides you your own weblog that you're using to say that. Emphasis should be on your own original thoughts, with any other links being a reference, not the main material. This is for writing, not reposting.
Talk about guns, talk about experiences, talk about faith, talk about freedom, talk about politics, talk about a good book, talk about your family. Using your own words and writing what you yourself think, in my opinion, helps people to respect you and your viewpoint even if they strongly disagree with it. You can also mind your audience better than another author can mind YOUR audience.
We're encouraging people to use this feature instead of the main forum if they want to post something within forum rules but with the potential for heated controversy. When posted on a weblog, the focus is on the original writing and the writer can moderate the responses. That doesn't mean in the slightest that you shouldn't use the blogging feature for the most cheerful and agreeable subjects as well.
For example, my use to date of the blogging feature was to write pro-RKBA articles. Later on I plan to write on history, heritage, some politics, half-educated philosophy, and faith. Some of these could lead in ugly directions if posted on the open forum. With the blog feature, you can read and agree or disagree. If you want to reply with a brief, respectful agreement or disagreement, I wouldn't see any reason to remove that post. If you have a lot to say about the subject, then your own post in your own blog would be more appropriate, with your own introduction and conclusions.
If people start to use the blogging feature the wrong way, there will be kind, non-judgemental instructions on how to use it in the future, with no hard feelings and a clean slate.

Years ago it would qualify you for a trip to a padded cell with Thorizine cocktails and, possible a Lobectomy, and a team of shrinks reporting to the State as to when you MIGHT be releasable.
Today, with the internet, it's acceptable because mainsteam thinks someone really is listening or that someone really cares.
Not!
LOL

The blog thing has no interest to me. However, it's not the first time I have missed something that took off! Take sports bars, the first time i blundered into a sports bar, all the TV's had different sports crap on! I asked the bar fly, why there was no videos or music? She looked at me like I was dumb and replied: "This is a sports bar. People like to watch the games while they have a beer." I thought to myself, "What a dumb beach!" But, now it appears it was I who was dumb!

Some weblogs are more popular than others. Some, written by more famous people and sponsored by organizations with attractive websites, have achieved a bit of attention as of late.
Case in point: Jim Zumbo
In some cases, it's a kind of writing more formal than posting but less formal than publishing.
