Well, sort of. There are two main chamberings that an AR comes in(dealing with this thread). The first is .223, the second is 5.56 NATO. An AR chambered in 5.56 NATO can fire both the .223 Remington round and the military 5.56 round. The .223 chambered AR might not like the 5.56 round, for a few reasons. First, the 5.56 chamber was designed to handle the hotter rounds(greater pressure) that the military uses, and designed to handle the often junked up cases of the 5.56 round. While chances of a problem using 5.56 rounds in a .223 chambered AR are slim, better safe then sorry. My guess is your DPMS is chambered for the 5.56 though.
