How accurate can an AK get. Lets say at 100 yards. And how much money would this cost. Also, how accurate would a cheap one be.
Experienced posters please. Or a good source.
A cheap one can be as accurate as an expensive one. But that would be luck of the draw. And of course the sites have to be on solid, and the shooter perfect with whatever siting device he is using.
The lower grade commercial AKs can group about 6" at 100yds on a bad day, and 4" as more of a standard. This includes WASRs. Some of course do much better.
The better commercial AKs will do 4-2" at 100yds. These would include the Bulgarian stamped AKs, Norincos in good shape, and the best of these are the Saigas. Some Saigas, particularly the S-308 and S-223, typically get 1.5 to 1 inch groups with an adequate shooter and optics.
The most accurate commercial AKs are the Arsenal milled versions and the Russian VEPRs. They are the ones that should reliably get 1" groups in 7.62x39mm using proper ammo.

Of course one could have a post ban Maddi (?) like one friend of mine had,
which couldn't group within a couple of FEET at 7 yds.! I'm sure that one
was a friday afternoon gun, but it sure was a large paperweight!
